Redesign a book and work in parallel to create two completely different styles. Consider the common parts of a book, including the publishing page, table of contents, chapter introductions, and interior spreads following the beginning of a chapter.
Two physical book redesigns with shared content covering the work of war photographer and photojournalist, Robert Capa. The graphical elements were designed in a way to let Capa’s photography shine and remain mostly unhindered. This can be seen in the first rendition of the book redesign. The second style opts to use a bold color to let the black-and-white imagery pop and direct the reader’s eyes as the navigate from page to page. The typography and secondary graphics lends it a more modern touch, whereas the latter can be scene as more academic and serious.
All photography was produced by Robert Capa and belongs to the International Center for Photography/Magnum.
