Create an engaging poster design to promote a conference for any private business sector no matter the subject matter or topic being discussed.
The approach taken for the NewSpace design was of minimalism, yet with intent. The conference itself is very elusive and difficult to define. However, it’s movement and philosophy is clear; organized discussion of the commercialization of aerospace and space exploration.
The challenge was to place purpose into each design element implemented into the final product. Avenir was favored and chosen for the typography. In the open space of blue are rings symbolizing planetary orbits and differ in tone as it ascends from the lower quarter of the page to the main title. One of the more pronounced elements, the orange circles stand for the planets that exist in our solar system. While it is a rare site, the planets form an eclipse. This represents the union of a global effort among individuals to eventually live this sought after futuristic achievement.
The fact that this was the event's seventh meeting has influenced the outcome of this design. Along with the alignment of the planets and the body of type, all the visual elements come together to create a larger number seven.
